Satchel Collection
A sturdy and elegant collection of carry goods to go the distance and age with grace. Having enjoyed the beauty of Canberra's four seasons, the public amenity (bike paths!) and the many pockets of green we thought we would pay a small homage to it's original architects and name the satchel range we designed while we lived in their vision after them. The Mahony, Burley and Griffin are named after Marion Mahony Griffin and Walter Burley Griffin. The Griffins won an international competition in 1911 for the design of the - to be - national capital.
"Griffin’s plan for Canberra was based on the natural topography of the site. [He] proposed a city located centrally between 3 hills (Black Mountain, Mount Ainslie and Mugga Mugga) and north and south of an ornamental lake made up of a series of linked basins. The city structure would be based on 2 main axes: a land and water axis." naa.gov.au
